Welcome!

My name is Taylor Shantz. I joined Team Diabetes in July 2005 hoping to make a change for the better in the lives of the two million canadians affected with diabetes.

To date I have raised $24,643.86 for the Canadian Diabetes Association!

In 2006 I travelled to Reykjavik Iceland and finished the 10 Km run in the Reykjavik marathon: An accomplishment for someone who hadn't caught the running bug just yet. In 2008, I challenged myself again and ran the half marathon race in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. In 2009, I attemped a full marathon in Athens, Greece but unfortunately I did not finish the race.

My next goals are to achieve a total fundraising amount of $25,000 and finish a full marathon by the time I'm 30-years-old (May 2013)!

Can I do it? Check back regularly to check my progress and consider making a donation to this worthy cause.

Why Support Team Diabetes Canada?

Since its inception, Team Diabetes Canada participants have raised vital funds on behalf of the Canadian Diabetes Association and the 2 million Canadians with diabetes that the Association serves.

Team Diabetes participants not only increase public awareness of the disease, they inspire their communities to get active and involved. They create lifestyle changes that reduce the risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes, while raising funds in support of the research, education, advocacy, and programming that the Canadian Diabetes Association delivers in communities across Canada.
